The famous Tengboche Monastery floats over heavenly clouds under the shadow of Mt Everest. Climbers enroute to Everest often stop here for a blessing by the local lama before they continue on to basecamp.
Stunning! I never seen any photograph that has shown more how we humans are mere specks surrounded by the awesomeness of nature. That which we haven't destroyed, anyway. (I didn't put that very well but I hope you know what I mean.)
This monastery has been there for centuries. I climbed this ridge to get a better view of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest which are above me to the right. After the alpengow faded from Everest, I looked back down and this scene before me was even more compelling. I flipped the camera around and got a few shots before the fast moving clouds engulfed the monastery.
